Jaeho Cho earned his Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005. His research concerns mass media effects in the realm of political communication, with particular attention to (a) the influence of mediated information on public opinion and political decision-making, and (b) the role that mass media, particularly the Internet, play in encouraging engagement in civic and political life. Since 2001, this research program has resulted in seventeen journal articles and two book chapters. His research has appeared in American Behavioral Scientist, Communication Monographs, Communication Research, Communication Theory, Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media, Journal of Communication, Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, International Journal of Press/Politics, IT & Society, and Mass Communication & Society. In addition to these publications, he has presented thirty-five papers at major communication conferences, seven of which have received top paper awards. He serves on the editorial board of Communication Research.
