Graduate Student Selected for Honors Seminar

Third year Ph.D. candidate Cassandra Alexopoulos has been accepted into the 2016 National Communication Association Doctoral Honors Seminar to be hosted July 21-24 by the School of Communication Studies at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.

Alexopoulos is among 36 doctoral students from around the world, and one of a dozen in mass communication, selected for the competitive program.

The annual NCA Doctoral Honors Seminar brings together promising doctoral students and outstanding faculty leaders in the field to discuss their research.

Students are chosen to participate based on submitted papers and recommendations from their advisers. 

Alexopoulos' research interests include media effects on adolescent sexual behavior and the role of media in relational conflict.
