PhD Student Jieyu Ding Awarded Fellowship for the STRIDE Data Incubator Summer Training Program

"Who are retweeting vaccine misinformation on Twitter? Dissemination of vaccine misinformation on Twitter"

 

Second-year PhD student, Jieyu (Jade) Ding, has been accepted to the STRIDE Incubator Data Training Program for Summer 2018. Her research proposal, "Who are retweeting vaccine misinformation on Twitter? Dissemination of vaccine misinformation on Twitter," was among the 6 selected projects this year. 

The STRIDE Incubator Data Training Program was a part of the Data Management Program in the Library of UC Davis.
It is a 6-week summer training program to assist students successfully transform a research idea into data engagement. The training program includes getting, cleaning, and analyzing big data. Students will be able to apply methods, skills, and tools independently by the end of the program.   
Jieyu will use this opportunity to collect a Twitter dataset to examine the different diffusion patterns of vaccine misinformation and accurate promotional information.
