Saifuddin (Saif) Ahmed

 Saif holds an MA in Communication Studies from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and has been a Research Associate at the Wee Kim Wee School Communication and Information (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore) for three and a half years since then. He holds a B.Sc in Mass Communications and Video Production from St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta, India. His broad interests lie in new and emerging media, political communication, election studies and public opinion. At UC Davis, he plans to study the transformative role of new media in civic and political engagement in technologically emerging societies.

Saif has presented his work at several international conferences (ICA, IAMCR, AEJMC, HICSS and WAPOR) and published research articles in international peer-reviewed journals including Communication Research, International Communication Gazette, Telematics & Informatics and Social Movement Studies. He has also authored a chapter in the book Case Studies in e-Government 2.0: Changing Citizen Relationships (Springer International Publishing), and is an external reviewer for a couple of reputed peer-reviewed journals. Saif enjoys scuba diving and is a big fan of Pink Floyd. He would love to get his skydiving license before his doctoral degree.
