Undergraduate Advising
COVID-19 Updates
- Appointments: You can still make appointments via OASIS. All appointments will take place via Zoom. When you make an appointment, an advisor will send you instructions on how to proceed. You have the option to call into the Zoom appointment.
- Spring 2020 Grading Policies: The Academic Senate has altered grading policies pertaining to P/NP for Spring Quarter 2020. The Department of Communication has no restriction on taking classes P/NP. You should still thoroughly consider whether this is the best choice for you, including making sure you meet University requirements outside of Spring 2020 (please contact the Letters and Science Office of the Dean for more information. We cannot advise on college and/or University requirements).
When evaluating the decision of whether to take a class P/NP, consider other major requirements you might have, your post-college plans (e.g. graduate school), and any scholarships/financial aid you might be receiving or for which plan to apply. If you have questions, please contact the respective unit or program directly.
- E-mail Responses: All Orange Cluster staff are working remotely. We are functioning at reduced capacity due to various impacts of the shelter-in-place order. Please understand that e-mail responses will be slow. Review all of the information on this website, including relevant links, and you may find the information you are looking for.
- Academic Peer Advising: In accordance with College policies, peer advisors cannot offer 1:1 meetings while working remotely, nor can they access OASIS. Orange Cluster APAs are working on ways to engage you and provide support remotely. If you have suggestions, please e-mail: poladvising@ucdavis.edu.
- Career Questions and Concerns: The Internship and Career Center has moved many of their services online, including appointments, workshops, and job searching information. They also have a list of companies hiring right now to meet short-term needs.
