Human Development and Media Lab Brings Virtual Reality and Hands-On Learning to UC Davis’ 111th Annual Picnic Day

As part of ongoing efforts to bring social science to the local community, the Human Development and Media Lab (led by Dr. Drew Cingel) highlighted a project on children’s learning from virtual reality at the Children’s Discovery Fair on Picnic Day, UC Davis’ annual celebration that attracts more than 75,000 visitors.

Shenzhen University Delegation Visits UC Davis Department of Communication

A delegation from the School of Media and Communication, Shenzhen University of China met with faculty of the Department of Communication at the University of California, Davis on Monday, December 2. The visiting delegation, led by Vice Dean and Professor Yubo Huang, aimed to explore potential academic and research collaborations with CMN, as part of SZU's ongoing effort to forge international partnerships that strengthen educational and scholarly exchange. 

UC Davis Associate Professor Jingwen Zhang Honored with Prestigious Lingnan Award for Excellence in Health Informatics

The Department of Communication at the University of California, Davis, proudly announces that Associate Professor Jingwen Zhang has been selected as the inaugural recipient of the Annual Lingnan Award for Excellence in Health Informatics. This distinguished honor is presented by CITRIS Health, a division of CITRIS and the Banatao Institute at the University of California, in partnership with the First Affiliated Hospital at Sun Yat-sen University, China.

NCA24 Research Showcase

 

Research conducted in the Department of Communication will be featured at this year's meeting of the National Communication Association. Researchers in the Department will present a total of 11 different projects, including one that earned a Top Paper award. Our faculty and students hold important leadership roles at NCA: Dr. Laramie Taylor is Second Vice-Chair for the Mass Communication Division, Sofia Rhea is Secretary for the Mass Communication Division, and Muhammad Rasul is Graduate Student Rep. for the Mass Communication Division.
