Internship Units and Assignments

The number of units earned in an internship is proportional to the number of hours the participant works each week.

This chart lists how many hours you need to work and the written assignments you are required to complete in order to receive 1–12 units of CMN 99 or 192 credit.

Internship Director

Dr. Virginia Hamilton oversees academic credit for internships in the Department of Communication. Dr. Hamilton earned her M.A. in communication studies from San Diego State University in 1986 and her Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction/human resource management from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991. She has been a lecturer in the UC Davis Department of Communication since 1999. In addition to supervising the department's CMN 192 course, Dr. Hamilton regularly teaches courses in Organizational Communication (CMN 136), Interpersonal Communication (CMN 003), and Theories of Human Communication (CMN 101).
