- Why should I study abroad?
- Studying abroad is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in new cultures, grow personally, strengthen your communication skills, explore new places, and perspectives. Students can also earn academic credit towards their major or graduation requirements.
Do I have to complete major coursework while studying abroad?
No, students do not need to complete any major coursework while studying abroad. Your coursework can be applied towards your university and college requirements. Please work with an advisor from the College of Letters and Science Dean's office to determine how to earn credit towards your university and college requirements while abroad.
I am looking to earn major credit while abroad, how can I tell which courses will count?
Students are encouraged to explore our Study Abroad Course Equivalency Database to see courses that have been approved towards the Communication major in the past. If you are interested in taking a course that is not listed in the database, please make sure to submit it for review in our Course Equivalency Request Form. Please note that faculty will need a full syllabus to review the course.
