Pre- Approved Courses
On this Study Abroad Course Equivalency Database, you can search for specific courses that have been pre-approved by the UCD Communication Department that can be applied towards degree requirements.
Please keep in mind the following disclaimers while browsing the database:
- All courses successfully completed on UCEAP are guaranteed UC credit.
- Not all courses listed in the database are guaranteed to be offered when you are abroad.
- Since partner institutions may offer new courses, not all available courses are listed in the database.
- You can find current course offerings on the website of the specific UCEAP affiliated university you plan to attend.
If there is a class that you would like to take that is not included in this UCD database, you can petition to have it approved for major/minor credit. To do so, you should gather the syllabus from the UCEAP Institution before traveling abroad (ideally) and complete the online form here. You will be asked to upload the syllabus, which should provide teaching topics, course calendar, textbook/reading assignments, and detailed course descriptions. Students can also submit coursework after returning from studying abroad for possible major credit.
Lastly, before going abroad, students should meet with Communication Advising to discuss academic planning.
