2025 - Communication Senior Awards

2025 Communication Senior Awards

Every year, high performing Communication Seniors are recognized by Communication faculty for their
outstanding achievements, which include both academic and extracurricular activities. Moreover,
among these high achieving students, one student is selected as Outstanding Senior.
This year, we are pleased to recognize Xinyi Tong as the 2025 Outstanding Communication Senior. Xinyi
exemplifies academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and a deep commitment to service. During her
time at UC Davis, she collaborated on research projects with at least four faculty members in the
Department of Communication, contributing across diverse areas of study. Beyond her academic
achievements, Xinyi has been actively involved in a wide range of extracurricular and volunteer
activities. She served as a multidisciplinary tutor for adults with special needs, volunteered regularly at
local elementary schools supporting children’s learning, and held a leadership role with the UC Davis
Chinese Union. Her passion for education and community engagement has earned her admission to the
Master’s Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she will begin in fall 2025.
