Brittney Reed Named Outstanding Senior

Student Researcher and Scholar Receives Honor from Department of Communication

The Department of Communication is pleased to announce that senior Communication major Brittney Reed has been named this year’s Outstanding Senior. Congratulations Brittney!

During her time at UC Davis, Brittney has been active as an undergraduate researcher, particularly with Dr. Drew Cingel in the Human Development and Media Lab. Brittney worked on designing a lab-based experiment to understand how viewing media content with close friends influences how preschool-aged children process moral narratives that teach children how to include others.

In addition, Brittney helped conduct a literature review on young children’s learning of vocabulary from media and wrote an encyclopedia entry on the topic. The entry has been accepted for publication in the Encyclopedia of Media Psychology, making Brittney a published author!

Beyond her successes as a researcher, Brittney has excelled in the classroom, graduating at the top of her class. Congratulations, Brittney, on this honor – we are proud of you!
